South Dakota Fishing Report 7/31/2005

Not much change from the last report. Fishing has held up well through July. The guides are catching 30 - 70 fish per day. The fish size is from 14 - 20 inches with most of the brought in from 15 - 17 inches. We are fishing the whole lower end of Sharpe, from Counselor Creek - North Shore to Iron Nation depending on the weather. For the most part the fish are from 11 to 20 feet of water. We are fishing with a spinner and a crawler.

Lake Francis Case has been good to excellent from the dam to Kiowa. Most of the fish are being caught with a spinner and a crawler or trolling cranks. The fish are being caught from 10 - 17 feet of water.

Again not everyone is catching fish. The guides are doing very well. There is a percentage that is doing well and a percentage that is not.

If you are thinking of booking a trip, the fishing is as good now as it has been all season. We are catching the same quality with very good numbers in spots.
